Spectrum Technologies has been at the forefront of laser wire processing technology for over 35 years, developing and applying leading edge technology to provide solutions to problems in advanced manufacturing.
Founded in 1989 as a spin-out from BAE Systems’ Advanced Technology Centre, the Company pioneered and commercialised UV laser wire marking within the aerospace industry - a process that has since become the global industry standard for identifying aerospace wire and cable. Spectrum has been independently owned since the management buyout in 1994.
Today, Spectrum Technologies is recognised as the world leader in the design and manufacture of specialised laser-based wire processing equipment. Its solutions are widely used in the production of complex wire harnesses and assemblies across aerospace, defence, rail, automotive, medical, and other critical industries.
Supported by a committed team of employees, Spectrum has developed a strong global customer base, as the leading supplier of laser wire processing equipment to key aerospace customers, including Boeing, Airbus and other major aircraft OEMs, and annually exports over 95% of its output for which it has been the recipient of numerous awards for exporting and innovation.
Spectrum Technologies operates globally, with the UK office providing sales and service support to Europe, the Middle East and Africa, while the Company’s US subsidiary in Fort Worth, Texas, provides support to customers in North and South America; the Asia Pacific region is covered by Spectrum’s service team in India and the China office, backed up by key regional distributors. Products are primarily sold directly to business customers in North America and Europe, with distribution through partners in Asia Pacific and other international markets.
